Are You Ready For A Home Based Business Opportunity?

It would be near impossible to surf the internet today and not come across offers to join a vast array of opportunities which promise to set you up in your own home based business. You may even be one of the many thousands of people who are actively looking for a home business opportunity.

If you are, you probably feel more than a little overwhelmed. Hundreds of offers are presented to you daily and many will make big promises and talk about compensation plans, automation systems and how their program will virtually run the business for you with little or no effort on your part.

It can be very tempting to get caught up in the excitement of a product launch and promotion, and start to believe that all the promises for quick wealth and success can be yours if you just buy that product which can get you your own home business. So I would like to make a couple of valid points that you should consider before you make any purchase or sign up for any program.

First, even if a program could become fully automated, it won’t really be of much help to you and I’ll tell you why.  It will not provide you with leads. It will not promote your product. It will not be placing advertisements for you.  It will not know the best and cheapest forms of advertising and it will not be paying for your ads.

Automation will also not handle customer enquiries and sales.  So let’s get realistic for a moment; the real work in any home business, whether on or off the internet is not automation, unless you become a manufacturer, and that’s not possible on the internet.  Your single, most important job will be to attract customers, lots of them, to your sales page where they can purchase your product.  That requires promotion and advertising and that applies regardless of the product.

People are not automated and if you offer a hyped up product for them to buy, you’ll attract people who are new to the internet, inexperienced in business and reckless in their decisions.  People like that are not as common as you may think.

An experienced marketer knows that automation doesn’t get you sales, and compensation plans, no matter how ingenious, are meaningless until someone promotes and advertises a product, and somebody buys it. Only then do you get paid.

On the internet, just as in real life, there’ll always be plenty of people wanting you to sell their product. That’s SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO.  Remember that when you look at that shiny new automated failsafe system, it’s one of hundreds of similar products. They keep appearing because they don’t last long.  That’s because people are not stupid, just inexperienced.

At the end of the day, business is very basic.  First get some marketing experience and work out a business plan.  Then create or get a product that has a real value and practical use. Make sure that product is something a lot of people need. Then you can set up your worldwide home based business, and market your product in an honest professional way.  That’s how you earn the respect of your customers and why they’ll go on doing business with you.
